The Hills Christian Community School (HILLS) is a co-educational, non-denominational Christian School, for Reception to Year 12 students. Our ELC – Year 12 Campus is situated on picturesque grounds at Verdun, which is only minutes away from the South-Eastern Freeway and 5 minutes from Hahndorf.

The engaging learning environment on both campuses promotes curiosity, discovery and independence with respectful relationships being developed between the staff and students.

Permanent Primary School Teacher

  • Full Time Permanent Primary School Teaching Position commencing January 2026.
  • In addition to this full-time permanent role, we may have some replacement teaching opportunities, and applicants from this recruitment process may be considered for these if suitable. Please indicate in your application if you are interested in being considered for both permanent and replacement roles.

Role Purpose 

Primary Educators will join a collaborative and thriving teaching team to create engaging and purposeful primary learning adventures for children. They will confidently meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students within the Primary years at HILLS. While working in a collaborative planning and teaching team, Primary Educators will guide and implement a tailored scope and sequence of learning which considers the unique requirements of students’ age and stage of development. Through a restorative approach to behaviour management, educators will develop intentional relationships with all students for the benefit of their learning and growth, while establishing and maintaining ongoing connection with the parent community.

Pre-Requisites/Qualifications

These qualifications/certificates are required prior to commencing employment at HILLS and must be updated for the duration of employments at HILLS (please provide copy with application):

  • Registered with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect Certificate
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Driver’s Licence

Our unique, open planned and innovative Middle School provides an environment that encourages excellence at a crucial stage in a student’s educational journey. Students are introduced to the world of Secondary School carefully and intentionally.

Middle School Educators will confidently meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students within the Middle Years at HILLS.  While working in a collaborative planning and teaching team, Middle School Educators will guide and implement an engaging and integrated learning program which considers the unique requirements of the student’s age and stage. Through a restorative approach to behaviour management, Educators will develop intentional relationships with all students for the benefit of their learning and growth.

They will have expertise in at least two of the following Core learning areas: Mathematics, Science, English and Global Perspectives (HASS). Experience in other subjects such as Health and PE and/or Christian Living would be an advantage.
