The Hills Christian Community School (HILLS) is a co-educational, non-denominational Christian School, for Reception to Year 12 students. Our ELC – Year 12 Campus is situated on picturesque grounds at Verdun, which is only minutes away from the South-Eastern Freeway and 5 minutes from Hahndorf.

School Support Educator (Upper Primary / Middle School)
- Contract position until the end of 2025 (term time only)
- 1:1 student support – Upper Primary/Middle School
- 6.25 hours one day per week with the potential to increase
- Grade 2 General Staff (HILLS Enterprise Agreement 2024)
- Remuneration: $10,167 – $10,612 (FTE $73,205 – $76,404)
Role Purpose
Hills is seeking a suitably experienced and enthusiastic applicant to undertake the role of Inclusive Education SSO. As the successful applicant, you will bring a collaborative, proactive and enthusiastic approach to working with students and educators. Support Educators are required to work closely with classroom educators, parents and leadership as a part of a team to achieve individual outcomes for each student.
The successful candidate will support students with complex learning profiles to access the curriculum through the effective, appropriate, and rigorous curriculum programs implemented by our classroom educators. They will provide specialist support and assistance, under the guidance of the relevant Inclusive Education Leader, for a range of neurodiverse students with complex learning profiles.
All members of staff of The Hills Christian Community School Inc. are expected to uphold and demonstrate personal qualities and behaviours which are consistent with the School’s Statement of Aims and Objectives, and its Statement of Belief. These include:

- Current Working with Children Check
- Current Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse & Neglect Certificate (RRHAN-EC)
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Successful completion or working towards a Certificate II or III in Education Support and/or Disability (or equivalent) would be an advantage.

ROLE PURPOSE

As a successful applicant, you will bring a collaborative, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to working with educators and a student with a complex learning profile. All Support Educators are required to work closely with classroom educators, parents, and leadership as part of a team to achieve individual outcomes for each student.
The successful candidate will support a student with a complex learning profile to productively participate in learning and school life alongside peers. The student will be scaffolded to access the curriculum through our classroom educators’ effective, appropriate, and rigorous curriculum programs. Under the guidance of the relevant Inclusive Education Leader, they will provide specialist trauma-informed behaviour support and assistance for this student
